Following Bartumeus et al. (2005), the flights of the Levy Walk can be interpreted as an aggregation of steps in more or less the same direction, separated by acute turns. A variable number of steps can be aggregated into flights using the approach suggested by Turchin (1998). N positions can be aggregated into one flight if all intermediate positions are no more than x m away from the line connecting the first point with point N (see Figure).
